The Prestige Residence was a complete turnkey transformation of a 2,800 sqft apartment in Gulshan, Dhaka. Our clients — a family of four with refined international taste — approached us with a clear brief: create a home that feels like the luxury hotels they stay in on their travels, but with the warmth and functionality of a family home.
Working closely with the family over 10 discovery sessions, we developed a design language rooted in muted warm tones, natural stone, custom joinery, and curated art. Every material was selected for both its sensory quality and long-term durability. Every detail — from the integrated lighting design to the custom wardrobe handles — was considered with the same level of intention.
The existing 9ft ceilings felt oppressive. We used recessed cove lighting, vertical joinery panels, and strategic mirror placement to create an illusion of height and airiness throughout.
The north-facing living room had minimal natural light. We introduced a layered lighting scheme with 4 zones per room, warm-spectrum LEDs, and reflective surfaces that bounce and amplify available light.
A family of four needs significant storage. We designed integrated joinery solutions — fluted cabinet fronts, concealed handles, under-stair storage — that hide function behind beautiful form.
With 7 distinct spaces, maintaining visual cohesion was critical. We developed a signature material palette — Calacatta marble, smoked oak, brushed brass — carried through every room with variation.
"STEP DECOR didn't just deliver a beautiful home — they delivered an experience that begins the moment you open the front door. We've had guests ask if we hired an international designer. We did — they're right here in Dhaka."
